This report examines the potential of restorative justice programmes to facilitate conflict resolution and provides appropriate protection to children. Even though restorative justice provides peaceful conflict resolution and contributes to cohesive and democratic societies, in many countries still may be perceived as a new and unfamiliar concept.
The report discusses the importance of restorative justice, together with existent legal framework. Furthermore, different models of restorative justice are offered and key question in regard to the importance of the restorative justice for the realization of the child rights are discussed. Finally, report addresses benefits from the restorative justice, but also challenges in its implementation.
