In this TED Talk, prosecutor Adam Foss from Boston makes the case for a less punitive, and more constructive justice system. This involves reducing the need for conviction and punishment, and stresses the importance of finding constructive solutions to make perpetrators learn from their mistakes and set them on the right path away from crime. This strongly resembles a diversion program, where the offender joins a rehabilitation program which will help remedy their behavior leading to the original arrest, avoiding conviction and a criminal record. This has implications on how the justice system should deal with children under 18.
